English (BA)
The English program provides students with a solid grounding in the importance of storytelling and writing. Students in the program read, analyze, and respond to a variety of literature, discovering how stories help them better understand human behavior, societies, cultures, historical contexts, and important contemporary and enduring issues. They also compose their own stories and learn to communicate effectively through multiple forms of creative, professional, and technical writing. English majors think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems, enabling them to use the skills of their English degree for professional success in numerous fields.
