Psychology (BS)

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology provides a scientific approach to understanding human behavior, thought processes, and emotions. The program emphasizes empirical knowledge grounded in theory and critical evaluation of evidence to understand, explain, and predict behavior. Students gain insight into the psychological factors that shape human experience and gain an understanding of research design, statistical analysis, and application of psychological principles to real-life settings. This program strongly focuses on the development of critical thinking, communication skills, and self-awareness alongside an understanding of human diversity and individual differences. Coursework includes internships and hands-on learning opportunities to prepare students for a variety of post-baccalaureate careers not requiring advanced studies in areas such as health sciences, human or social services, government, education, and business. The degree also prepares students to pursue graduate study in psychology or related health and human services.
